Shanter Productions
John established Shanter Productions in 1971 and Colin Harvey Wright became his manager. Shanter, taken from the 'Tam o' Shanter' allowed John to put all his interests as writer, director and actor under the one 'hat'. During these years he wrote and performed the shows which Colin produced, among them: 'The Ivor Novello Story', 'The Real McGonagall', 'The Robert Service Story', 'The Scotland Story', 'A Mackintosh Experience' and 'The Robert Burns Story'. They also won a 'Come to Britain' award from the Scottish Tourist Board for their work in inaugurating the first Robert Burns Festival in Ayrshire.
